Barking Abbey partner club Kent Crusaders went down 92-81 on Monday evening at the hands of Reading Rockets in Division 1 Men’s action.
Despite a 35 point outing from Caleb Fuller, Crusaders fell apart in the second period after hanging around early, allowing Reading to pour in 30 points whilst holding Kent to just 17, taking a 16 point lead into the halftime break.
A 12-0 third quarter run saw Crusaders reduce the deficit, trailing by 11 heading into the final period, before a 10-2 run from Reading saw them secure the victory.
The loss ended Crusaders’ two game win streak, as Dean Wanliss added 13 points and Micah Savery-Richards had 10.
Tim Gill lead Reading with 21 points and 19 rebounds, as Crusaders dropped to 8-11 with the defeat sitting in ninth place in the league table.
Crusaders will now face Team Newcastle University on Saturday March 10th at BA Leisure Centre (4pm tip).
