Barking Abbey alumnus Robinson Idehen has been selected in the initial sixteen man squad for the Spanish Under-20 men.
Idehen, who departed BA in 2013 and attended Modesto Christian High School before signing with NCAA Division 1 school Western Kentucky University, will join the side for training camp and try to make his case for the squad later this month.
Spain are the defending Under-20 European Champions and will be looking to continue the streak of ten consecutive medals this summer.
Head Coach of the squad will be Ibon Navarro, who worked with Manresa in the ACB this season, assisted by Alberto Lorenzo and Aleix Durán.
The team will be based in Platja d’Aro, where they will play an international tournament (from June 30 to July 2) against Czech Republic, Germany and France, before travelling to Greece to play a new international tournament, from 10 to 12 July, against Greece, Italy and Iceland to round out their preparation.
Whilst at BA and also playing for Barking & Dagenham Thunder, Robinson became initially involved with the Spanish National Team through representing the Under-16s after being noticed by former BA coach Luis Guil.
